My Story

“When dementia touches a family, it changes everything

I’ve spent my career walking with families during their most frightening moments. The hardest ones were navigating a new diagnosis of dementia, trying to understand what comes next and wondering what could have been done differently.

As a fellowship-trained geriatrician, I have seen dementia at every stage. What strikes me again and again is that we miss the window for meaningful prevention. Most people do not realize that brain changes associated with dementia begin 20 years before any symptom appears. That means that your 40s and 50s are not too early to act. They are exactly the right time.

“I created Flourish because prevention shouldn’t be an afterthought. It should be the foundational plan.

Our family caregivers are unfortunately disproportionately affected by dementia as they shoulder the overwhelming caregiving responsibilities. Yet, the guidance they receive for their own brain health is often vague, scattered or arrives much too late.

Flourish Cognitive Health exists to give family caregivers a real, structured, impactful and evidence-based plan before any crisis begins.

I am proud to bring a rare combination of deep clinical experience with dementia patients at every stage of disease, layered with specialized training in the lifestyle interventions that prevent it. It is a joy to now take my years of experience at the bedside and apply them upstream. I founded Flourish Cognitive Health to offer what the traditional heath care system rarely does - a structured, practical, personalized, physician-led program for people who want to stay ahead of their risk and not react to it.
